Miss Laura was an extraordinary woman who recognized the need to feed the homeless and hungry of Nashville. In 1997 Miss Laura's life was featured on an NBC documentary, "A Lifetime of Sharing." She was an example of an African-American woman who had worked through church and community structures to further the civil rights movement, hunger relief, African-American education and Christian service.
We are so thankful for the donations we received from our partners at cul2vate today. They supplied us with 70 pounds of fingerling potatoes and 3 crates of squash that we will incorporate into our Tuesday and Thursday meals in partnership with Restoration Pointe. Please check out cul2vate and Restoration Pointe - they are doing great work on behalf of our neighbors in Nashville that need good, nutritious food.
